SCULPTURE TRAIL

Twenty-three sculptures open a window on the world. One of the world’s smallest sculpture symposia was held in Unterbäch in 2016 and 2018. The sculptures that were created can be explored on a circular trail. QR codes on the sculptures provide information on the thoughts and motives of the artists. An information brochure is also available at the tourist office. The circular trail starts with the first sculpture at the car park at the entrance to the village and leads across the church square on the left up through the Suonen- and Sudelpark and on the narrow road behind it back down to Dorfstrasse. Going west, follow the road until the junction at the power station, where you turn right. After a 180-degree bend in the Niwwe Stube, the route is even at first and then slightly uphill back towards the village centre. At the gymnasium, turn left and follow the road down to the cantonal road. Shortly after the Walliserhof sports hotel, you will find sculpture no. 21. Sculptures 22 and 23 are located off this circular trail on Fromattastrasse (no. 22) and on Brandalp (no. 23). Most of the sculptures are available to buy if this is of interest.
