There\u2019s plenty more climbing to come on this adventurous hiking tour. From Brandalp, you first follow the forest road towards B\u00fcrchen, until the path branches off after the chalet area to the right up into the forest. Follow the steep winding trail until you reach the first stop at Alp Gibidum. From here you have a wonderful panoramic view of the Valais and Bernese Alps, towered over by the imposing Bietschhorn. The route continues on uphill, past the majestic towers of the \u2018Steimannjini\u2019 to the March at 2,876 m. From here, it is only 100 metres up the ridge to the Augstbordhorn, the region\u2019s namesake. At 2,973 metres, this is one of the most beautiful summits in the canton of Valais. The panoramic view from the wide summit plateau is breath-taking. Once you\u2019ve rested and written your name in the summit book, follow the Augstbord ridge over to the Dreizehntenhorn along an S-shaped route. This section is only suitable for sure-footed hikers with a head for heights. Yet the climb up this relatively unknown three-thousand-metre marvel is worth your while. The view from the summit is phenomenal. Make sure to write your name in this summit book, too. From the summit a stony, steep descent leads to the Grosse See lake. Of course, the ascent to the Dreizehntenhorn over the exposed ridge can also be skipped by directly descending from the Augstbordhorn to the Grosse See (1.5 h shorter). Regardless of which version you choose, we recommend a long rest at this magnificent mountain lake before you start the approx. two-hour descent through the Ginals via the Unners S\u00e4nntum and Breite St\u00e4g and further along the Meigger Suon waterway to Brandalp.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section>\n\n<style type=\"text\/css\" data-created_by=\"avia_inline_auto\"
