The first metres of altitude are covered on hilly terrain on the way to the Grosse See lake. This is a great opportunity to admire surrounding peaks such as the Dreizehntenhorn (3,052 m above sea level), the Ginalshorn (3,027 m above sea level) and the Signalhorn (2,911 m above sea level). From the Grosse See, you climb further south until you reach the ramp over the rocks. Follow this ramp to reach the Augstbord ridge. Favourable avalanche conditions are essential for this section of the trail. Now follow the ridge for a little while towards the north-west until it gets steeper. A ski depot is usually set up there so you can climb the last few metres to the summit of the Dreizehntenhorn on foot. Here, a vast mountain panorama spreads out before you. Some of Switzerland\u2019s most stunning, tallest mountains seem close enough to touch. Magnificent highlights include the Dom (4,545 m above sea level), the highest peak in Switzerland, and the imposing and wild Weisshorn (4,506 m above sea level). Interesting fact: at the summit of the Dreizehntenhorn, the borders of three districts, or \u2018Zehnten\u2019, Visp, Leuk and Raron meet, which is how it got its name. Via the north-east flank, a rewarding descent, you return to the Grosse See lake and finally to the top station of the Seefeld lift.
