VALAIS BIKE ETAPPE 2
UNTERBÄCH – GRÄCHEN
The Valais Bike is a three-stage regional bike route, which leads from Leukerbad via Unterbäch to Grächen and finally to Brig. Stage two, which leads through our beautiful Augstbord region, also makes a great day trip. The start is on Brandalp, which can be reached either by bike or by chairlift. From here this varied bike route starts off heading left towards Bürchen. With a little extra pedal power, you will then reach the Moosalp pass, which is perfect for a stopover. From here you can enjoy the view of the Rhone valley from the Moosalp restaurant while enjoying a legendary ‘cream slice’. Once you’re back in the saddle, a pleasant, flat stretch follows on a wide path with panoramic views of the imposing peaks of the Saas valley and from Zermatt to Embd. The rest of the route is mostly downhill. The Kalpetran enduro is a highlight of the Valais single trails and offers a descent of around 1,100 m in altitude to Kalpetran in the Mattertal. The last section leads with a pleasant final ascent to the family destination of Grächen. Post buses leave Grächen for Visp via St. Niklaus every hour. Of course, you can also end your bike trip in St. Niklaus.
