The 5 km long sledge run from Brandalp to Unterbäch is known far and wide and popular with young and old. Whether you take the traditional sledge, modern bobsleigh or extraordinary ‘Brandalp-Blitz’ – you’re sure to enjoy the ride. It’s easy to reach the start of the sledging run by chairlift from Unterbäch.
SLEDGE HIRE
Sledges, bobsleighs and Brandalp-Blitzes can be hired from the Olympiasport sports shop in the village:
- 1 day CHF 8.00–11.00
- 1/2 day CHF 5.00–7.00
BRANDALP-BLITZ
There are many alternatives to skiing in Unterbäch: probably the most extraordinary experience is a ride on the ‘Brandalp-Blitz’ – a sleek piece of sports equipment that vaguely resembles a milking stool. Once you have taken a seat on the ‘Brandalp-Blitz’, you can zip back down from Brandalp to the village – or take it a little easier.
Hire: Brandalp-Blitzes can be hired in the sports shop as well as in the restaurant Alpenrösli at the top station of the chairlift:
- Per trip: CHF 2.00
- The Brandalp-Blitz can be rented at the sports shop as well as at the Alpenrösli restaurant at the top station of the chairlift.

Evening sledging
On various Fridays during the winter season there is evening sledging from 17.00 – 19.00. Unlimited tobogganing is available for only CHF 10.00. The price also includes a drink in the Alpenrösli restaurant on Brandalp.
