FIRE PITS AND BARBECUE AREAS
In and around Unterbäch, you’ll find many fire pits and barbecues perfect for grilling. The fire pits are marked on the panoramic map.
“IM BRUNNEN” PLAYGROUND FIRE PIT
The ‘Schweizer Familie’ barbecue site is located 600 m southeast of Unterbäch on a meadow slope above a bend in the road. There are five seats around the fire pit. There are also two dining tables for about 20 people and a spring with drinking water. After dinner, the kids can let off steam in the adjacent playground.
Location: village entrance east side, Unterbäch-Bürchen road.
BECKI FIRE PIT
At Becki, 15 minutes’ walk from Brandalp, you’ll find a barbecue site with a spacious picnic area. You can also relax comfortably in one of the two hammocks and enjoy a view of the Unterbäch municipality’s reservoir. The barbecue area can even be reserved exclusively for groups of 20 or more.

GROSSE SEE LAKESIDE FIRE PIT
The walk to this fire pit near the Grosse See lake is a little longer – but it’s definitely worth the climb. At the idyllic mountain lake, alongside the most beautiful and highest barbecue area in the entire Augstbord region, comfortable reclining chairs and a charming little shelter await. The barbecue area at the Grosse See (2,546 m above sea level) can be reached in three hours and 15 minutes from Brandalp.

RUFIWALD FIRE PIT
The fire pit in the Rufiwald forest can be reached from Brandalp via two different paths – via Unners Senntum or the Meigger Suon waterway. The walk to this romantic barbecue area in a forest clearing takes about one hour and 15 minutes. Picnic tables are available.
