Summer in Unterbäch: Augstbord Lake Park open with restrictions

Unterbäch once again invites you to enjoy nature, relaxation and family time this summer. However, there are currently restrictions in place at Augstbord Lake Park, which we would like to inform our guests about in good time.

The lake will remain dry until further notice. The playground at the lake park is also closed. The remaining areas of the park and the camping pitches can still be used.

The reason for the restrictions is ongoing technical investigations. It has been established that the lake is losing water. The escaping water is flowing into the embankment area and saturating the ground there. As a precautionary measure, the lake will remain empty until the cause has been identified and the necessary measures defined.

As things stand, it is unlikely that the lake will be able to be refilled this summer. Whether and when refilling will be possible thereafter depends on further investigations and the resulting measures.

Geologists and engineers have issued a special exemption for the OWTPF from 12 to 14 June 2026. This applies exclusively to this event and does not constitute a general opening of the lake or playground.

Even when the lake is not full, there is plenty to discover in Unterbäch: families can play and splash about in the Suonen and Sudel Park, visit the playground by the fountain, take the chairlift up the mountain, stroll across the suspension bridge, go on little adventures along the Pirate Trail, or enjoy the numerous walking and hiking trails around Unterbäch.

Thank you for your understanding. We look forward to welcoming you to Unterbäch again this summer.
