RENT AN ELECTRIC CAR LOCALLY
The existing electric car service in Unterbäch is now being replaced by Sponti-Car and, at the same time, streamlined: instead of the previous locations, two electric vehicles are now available in a central location in the Unterbäch car park. The new solution offers simple and flexible use at a clear hourly rate.
Travelling to Unterbäch is also convenient and sustainable. Thanks to good public transport links and the Raron–Unterbäch cable car, visitors and locals can easily reach the village without needing their own car. Once in Unterbäch, Sponti-Car’s electric vehicles then provide the necessary local transport – for example, for shopping, a day out or a visit to one of the surrounding villages.
The electric vehicles are powered by 100 per cent renewable electricity from regional hydroelectric and solar energy. In this way, Sponti-Car combines ease of use with sustainable and personalised mobility.
This allows visitors to explore the region flexibly, comfortably and in an environmentally conscious way – from travelling there by public transport to continuing their journey independently by electric car.
The service will be available from 1 October 2026.

HOW IT WORKS
Here’s how Sponti-Car works: Register online once and upload your driving licence. Once your application has been approved, users will receive instructions on how to use the service and can choose between the Sponti-Car app or a personal access card. You can then book available vehicles online for periods ranging from one hour up to several days. After the journey, the vehicle is parked in the reserved parking space and reconnected to the charging station. Billing takes place monthly via invoice.

The Sponti-Car app makes using the service particularly straightforward. Users can search for available vehicles and book them directly via the app. It guides users through the process of using the vehicle and provides quick access to the key functions and information relating to the booking.
